Biography

Pedro Guillermo Feijóo García is a lecturer in the School of Computing Instruction at Georgia Tech’s College of Computing and a Fulbright alumnus. He is the director of the People-Agents Research for Computing Education (PARCE) Laboratory, where his work centers on human-centered computing, human–AI interaction, and computer science education, with an emphasis on software engineering education and AI-supported learning environments. His teaching portfolio spans courses in Software Engineering, Programming and Software Development, Human-Computer Interaction, User-Experience Design, and Capstone Projects. He is an active Create-X faculty member, mentoring students in innovation and entrepreneurship in computing and technology.

Dr. Feijóo García earned his Ph.D. in Human-Centered Computing from the University of Florida in 2023, supported by Fulbright and the Colombian Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation. He also holds bachelor’s degrees in Systems and Computing Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, a master’s degree in Systems and Computing Engineering from Universidad de los Andes, and a graduate certificate in Higher Education Teaching from Universidad El Bosque.

His scholarship spans human-centered AI and computing education and includes over 40 peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters. He has designed and taught over 50 undergraduate and graduate courses across the United States and Colombia and has mentored over 70 undergraduate and graduate students across multiple institutions. In 2024, he secured nearly $2 million in National Science Foundation funding as Principal Investigator of a multi-institutional project on hidden curricula in computing education, marking the first-ever NSF award to Georgia Tech’s School of Computing Instruction.

Dr. Feijóo García has received multiple honors for teaching and academic excellence, including the Monica Sweat Outstanding Lecturer in External Engagement Award, recognition on the 2024 CIOS Honor Roll, and multiple Thank a Teacher certificates from Georgia Tech’s Center for Teaching and Learning. During his doctoral training, he was a three-time recipient of the Gartner Group Graduate Fellowship and the College Nominee for the Alec Courtelis Award at the University of Florida. He is also the first-ever recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award for Academic Excellence in the inaugural alumni awards ceremony of UF’s Department of Computer & Information Science & Engineering. Looking ahead, his work aims to shape the future of computing education by leveraging human-centered AI to inform pedagogy, learning design, and educational technologies at scale.
